Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors for the Electrical/Electronics Technology program. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Part-time/adjunct faculty in Industrial Mechanical Technology are responsible for teaching the objectives in each course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college. Courses cover areas such as basic DC/AC circuit principles, electrical wiring practices, conduit bending, National Electric Code, electrical system design, electronic devices and circuits, electrical print reading, electrical power generation and distribution, solar and wind power, motors and generators, motor controls, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives, robotics, and electrical cranes.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate specialty or an Associate of Applied Science degree with a minimum of 2000 hours of employment experience in the occupational specialty to be taught, or have completed a three to four-year formal apprenticeship program in the occupational specialty to be taught.
•Practical experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial electrical/electronic equipment.
•Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
•Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers, applicable software, and Internet - dependent on the needs of course delivery.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Salary varies based on educational level and number of units taught. Starting rates for the current Academic Year can be viewed on SWIC’s Employment page.

WORK LOCATION
Industrial Electricity program courses are offered at the Sam Wolf Granite City and Belleville Campuses.
