Summary
The entry-level laborer has limited or no experience in commercial concrete construction yet brings an excellent attitude with a willingness to learn, work hard, and improve their skills. This role supports all functions of commercial concrete projects through housekeeping, toting materials, setting formwork, shoring, and placing concrete. Entry-level laborers are exposed to several main types of commercial concrete work, including sub-structures, elevated structures, parking ramps, and tilt, to name a few. These structures allow the entry-level laborer to understand footings, mass footings, walls, columns, shoring, decking, formwork systems, gang forms, reinforcing, and post-tension systems. Communicating effectively with supervisors, teammates, and other trades is expected, as well as asking questions to increase growth and development.
