Position Details: Title: QA Technician, US Finished Goods and Cutting Department: Quality Reports to: Supervisor, Internal Quality and Quality Systems Location: Supply Chain Job Classification: Onsite FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Band: Business Support Job Summary The primary purpose of the position is to perform timely and accurate quality audits. The focus is on products that are produced by assigned Internal Manufacturing facilities. This position will evaluate and perform all audits based upon specific Tech Packs and Carhartt’s procedure requirements. Responsible for data integrity during the audit process. Associate Responsibilities
Ensures safety, housekeeping and preventive guidelines are maintained in assigned area. Performs timely and accurate inspection of incoming fabric, audits of cutting and sewing in process. Required to record and report results for fabric inspection, fabric test preparation, cutting audits, and communicate all non-conformances to the appropriate channels. Prepare fabric swatches for lab and shrinkage testing from new fabric shipments and perform fabric inspection per the defined procedure. Accurately and consistently utilize all applicable quality requirements: Tech Packs, How to Measure Guide, Defect Threshold Manual, Final Audit Procedures, Repair and Non-Conforming Policy, Cutting Audit Procedures etc. Evaluation and measuring of all sample types presented. Collaborates with production to answer questions and concerns in a timely manner. Participates in construction and specification reviews as requested. Attend and participate in pre-production meetings and support training regarding quality. Attend Quality Team or departmental meetings as required.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 1 year of quality or sewing operator experience; or a minimum of 2 years of general work experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Intermediate computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office. Ability to fully understand tech packs and sewing specifications and how they apply to auditing. Quality experience preferred. Working knowledge of apparel construction and industry preferred. Sewing experience or knowledge preferred. Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
