Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced HVAC Technicians for projects located in or around South Bend, IN. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is $45-$60/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:
•Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance on ammonia, CO2 and Freon refrigeration systems
•Complex system installations, startups and commissioning
•Respond to emergency service calls & troubleshooting issues
•Read & interpret technical drawings, schematics and P&IDs to support efficient repairs & installations
•Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA, PSM)
•Communicate efficiently with service manager, service coordinator and customers regarding job status, repairs and recommendations
•Maintain detailed service records, reports & documentation in accordance with company standards
•Assist in planning & coordinating resources, tools & materials for service & project work
•Stay current with industry technologies, codes and best practices
•Prepare quotes for customers based on required service, parts, and labor
•Identify potential new customers and opportunities for service growth, supporting the company’s business development effort
•Maintain company vehicles assigned for service work, including routine inspections, cleaning, fueling, and reporting any maintenance needs or damage
•Use company credit cards responsibly for approved business-related expenses, following company policies and submitting receipts and documentation promptly
Requirements:
•Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial refrigeration (ammonia, CO₂, or Freon systems)
•RETA certification (CIRO, CARO, CRST or equivalent) preferred
•Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems, controls, and safety protocols
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs
•Familiarity with PSM/RMP compliance and documentation
•Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
•Excellent communication and leadership abilities
•Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
•Willingness to travel and work on-call as required
