Responsibilities As a Laborer/Groundman on our Long Haul Travel Crew, you will support aerial and underground telecom construction projects nationwide. This role requires 100% travel, working on projects of varying durations. You take pride in doing the job right, working safely, and being a reliable, hands-on member of the team. In addition, you will: Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE to ensure the safety of yourself, your crew, and the public Perform general labor duties including trenching, backfilling, job site prep, and material handling Assist with installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable, including fiber blowing and placement Support aerial and underground construction as directed and trained Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment between job sites Assist with equipment and vehicle operations (trucks, trailers, and construction equipment) as directed and certified Support site cleanup, basic maintenance, and overall job site organization Assist with troubleshooting and basic repair of RF and fiber systems as needed Learn to read and interpret construction prints, maps, and design schematics Gain experience with telecom tools and equipment such as bucket trucks, line trucks, cable reels, and power tools Work 50-60 hours per week and travel 100% of the time (except PTO and holidays) Qualifications About You: Safety-focused with a strong work ethic Enjoy hands-on, physical work and being part of a team Dependable, coachable, and willing to learn 1-2 years of outdoor experience, preferably in construction Comfortable working in all weather and varying terrain Able to travel 100% and work 50-60 hours per week Willing and able to get a DOT Med Card if needed Valid driver’s license with a clean record past 3 years (CDL prefered) Travel Details: · Per Diem 7 days a week - rain or shine. · Schedule is roughly 3-4 weeks on, 5 days off - timing the breaks over Holidays. · 50-60 hours per week, overtime applies after 40 hours per week.
