•Assist with construction layout using string lines and basic layout tools
•Read and interpret tape measurements accurately
•Support setup and maintenance of layout instruments (transit, eye level, laser, pocket laser, backsight)
•Assist in reading and understanding project blueprints and shop drawings
•Work with senior team members to ensure accurate field layout
•Maintain and organize personal and company tools
•Follow safety guidelines and jobsite procedures
•Basic ability to read a tape measure
•Familiarity with or willingness to learn layout instruments (transit, laser levels, etc.)
•Understanding of basic construction math (or currently enrolled in a math course)
•Exposure to blueprint reading (layout or structural preferred)
•Currently enrolled in or completed courses such as:
•Structural Layout Blueprint Class
•Bluebeam (or similar construction software)
•Ability to read or beginning to understand shop drawings (company and subcontractor)
•Must have all basic hand tools required for the job
•Ability to work outdoors and in a physically demanding environment
