This role will ultimately require you to achieve a Journeyman Electrician license. However, if you don’t have that yet, no problem! Wausau Window will support you in achieving this!
Ideal candidates will have achieved an associate degree - or are currently pursuing an associate degree - in any of the following areas:
•Automation Systems Technology
•Electromechanical Technology
•Industrial Electronics and Maintenance Technician
HOURS:
2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:00pm to 1:30am
Overtime is worked as needed on Friday
POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:
•Install conduit and wiring for single phase and three phase building wiring
•Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to facility and machines
•Knowledgeable in the basic set up and troubleshooting of pneumatics and hydraulics
•Perform preventative maintenance on facility and machines
•Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting
•Maintain a clean and well-organized maintenance shop and parts storage area
•Adhere to established policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
•Understand machine wiring and control systems
•Understand and support Six Sigma/Lean and the continuous improvement process
•May be required to perform other company duties as needed to assist other departments as requested
•Flexible and willing to shift priorities.
•Will need to work at Wausau and Stratford facilities as needed.
•Adhere to established safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all associates. Will participate in additional required safety training associated with the Maintenance function(s).
•Use all approved safety personal protective equipment, and equipment safeguarding
Individual hired for this role must earn Electrician Journeyman certificate. Employer will cover 100% of tuition, books, lab fees, etc. according to company policy.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
•High school or General Equivalency Diploma
•Electromechanical Technology Associate degree is desired
•Pursuing Electromechanical Technology or related degree, plus two (2) years of related experience or has five (5) years of experience in electrical field
•Must possess a valid driver’s license
SKILL and KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to take direction and complete assignments as required
•Ability to understand current electrical codes and apply them to assignments. Codes include Local, State, and Federal, requirements
•Ability to be certified in manlift and forklift operation.
•Ability to read and understand prints, drawings, and other supporting documentation
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
•Communicate effectively in a verbal and a written manner
•Knowledge of window and curtain wall product and processes is preferred
•Self-starter who works well independently, quickly, and accurately
•Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
•A working knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is frequently exposed to heights to 40 ft, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must have the ability to travel to our Stratford or Wausau Manufacturing Centers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Two-person assist or mechanical lifts for heavier weights.
